💌 Dear Myth-weaver 2022

Oops, here's me thinking I had a few more hours to update this!

Thank you for reading my letter!

Everything here aside from do-not-wants are a suggestion only, so feel free to write whatever you were thinking about when you signed up to the exchange and write something you enjoy. This is my first foray into fic from traditional stories, so I don't have a huge number of ideas about what I'd like in a fic. I'll love reading whatever you decide to write!

Orpheus and Eurydice (Metamorphoses - Ovid)

I really love this story, but I also love the Middle English version, Sir Orfeo. I'd love to see a fic where Orpheus and Eurydice are reborn into a different time/times, place/places and body/bodies and still go through the same journey of kidnap/death and rescue, perhaps with a different ending.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

I'd love to see something that leans into the more pagan side of the Arthurian legends and interpretation of this myth, and/or the queer themes. Something from the perspective of the Lord and the Lady would also be very interesting!

The Selkie Bride (Scottish Folk Tale)

I'd really like an exploration of the selkie's life and her wants and desires as she's trapped, perhaps with a glimpse of what she's missing with her seal family. Given the nature of the story, I'm happy if you wanted to lean into darker themes here (she is, after all, essentially kidnapped and then hs seven children with her captor) but I'd like a happy ending if that's the case!

Le Morte d'Arthur - Thomas Malory

It's actually been a while since I read this, so I don't have a clear image in my mind of what I would like, so please just go nuts and write whatever you'd like! Focus on some of the female characters would be super cool!
